Although I make these cookies any time of the year, because they are delicious! I tend to think of them more once the weather starts to get a little bit cooler. They are perfect for the holiday season as they have warm spices that just remind me of winter and Christmas.
If you have never tried a Snickerdoodle I encourage you to try them! They are easy to make and are so delicious! Enjoy! ~ Lisa
ingredients
- 250g plain flour
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 125g butter, room temperature
- 100g plus 2 tbsp caster sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
directions
- Pre-heat oven 180C/350F/gas mark 4
- Combine flour, nutmeg, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl cream the butter with 100g sugar until fluffy and pale in color. Beat in egg and vanilla. Fold into the dry mixture.
- Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon together in a large bowl. Roll the dough into walnut sized balls.
- Roll the dough balls in the sugar and cinnamon
- Bake for 15 minutes.
