Last year Paul and I headed back to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary and had a wonderful time re-connecting with Oahu and Kauai (the islands where we spent our honeymoon). We ate at a lot of great places and made a point of trying to sample as much of the local food as possible.
When we were planning our annual vacation this year, we had originally decided on a 10-day trip through Edinburgh (with a side-trip to the Scottish Highlands), London and Paris, but the whirlwind of planning just left me anxious and less-than-enthusiastic. So we changed course and ended up… back in Hawaii?
Well, why not, right? We love it there and there’s still lots to explore and plenty of beaches to relax on. Plus, this time we chose to visit an island we haven’t been to before – Maui!
So, just like last year, we’ve collected recommendations from Hawaiian bloggers and magazines, Google mapped a bunch of food places to try and we’re ready to explore a whole new island.
New for this trip – I’m going to have a cell phone with a data plan so even though I’ll be trying to stay offline for most of the time (it IS a vacation after all), I’ll definitely be online more than I was before.
